This ministry is a division of the ministry of Christian Counseling.

Christian (Biblical) Financial Counseling

Since the goal of all Christian Counseling is to evangelize lost sinners and help believers in Christ to become more Christ-like, then Christian or Biblical Financial Counseling should have the same goal. We desire to become increasingly pleasing to God in the stewardship or management of His financial resources that He has entrusted to us.

Romans 8:28-29; Phil 3:10, 4:10-20; Matt. 6:19-34, note v. 33; Col. 3:1-4; Deut. 8:16-18; Ps. 62:10-12; I Chron. 29; Eph. 4:15; Col. 1:28

Stewardship

Believers in Christ are stewards of all that God has entrusted to them. There is nothing we have that God has not given to us and entrusted us to use for His Glory. This includes spouse, children, ministry, abilities, and possessions. In entrusting them to us, He expects us to use them faithfully for His Glory.

I Cor. 4:1, 10:31-33; Eph. 3:2; Col. 1:25; I Thess. 2:2-4

This area would include budgeting, investing, etc...

Christ gave an account of His ministry to His Father.

John 17:4, 12, 19:30; Matt. 24:45-51, 25:14-30, note; Luke 12:41-48, 16:1-13, 19:12-27; I Cor. 4:1-2

Debt Counseling

Counseling to help free those who are in the bondage of debt to become more free to give.

Romans 13:8

Grace (Free-Will) - Giving vs. Tithing

Grace-giving: Counsel based on II Cor. 8 and 9. Emphasis is placed on the Grace of God in v.8:1 and flows through the entire text, ending with v.9:14-15; cp. Jn 3:16; I Cor. 16:1-2

Tithes and Offering/Taxes: Mal. 3:8-12; Matt. 22:21; Mark 12:17; Rom. 13:6-7. Note how the widow graciously gave all that she had, in Mark 12:41-44 and Luke 21:1-4, for which Christ was pleased. Also, worthy of contrast is that of Acts 4:32-5:11; cp. Acts 8:14-25. Three motives for giving: Guilt, Grace, and Greed.

Grace-giving is an external expression of an internal spiritual commitment to God for the benefit of others, especially those who are of the household of faith. Gal. 6:10 and also I Tim. 6:5-19; Acts 20:35.
